Name: Malcolm Dow

Location: Williamstown, Victoria, Australia

My wife Diana and I are pastors of a small Baptist church, which meets around food on Friday nights instead of Sunday (open house on Sunday). We are currently establishing a network of simple organic and house churches.

Before this I was a scientific researcher (robotics and AI), and a university lecturer (electrical and electronic engineering),with degrees in Mathematics, Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Theology. Some of the projects I have been involved in include the Interscan automatic aircraft landing system, the Cochlea Implant bionic ear, automatic computer vision systems, speech recognition and robot control, and vision processing for a camera on the Hubble Space telescope. One of my students joined the NASA Mars Lander project, after winning a prize for the expert system we developed to control a nytroglycerene factory under emegency conditions.

Exciting as these pursuits were, pastoring is much more rewarding! We also run the Beth Tephillah Ministry Centre, focusing on healing prayer ministry and running seminars on Hearing God’s Voice, Intimacy with God, and counselling in the areas of dissociation, generational problems and forgiveness. I run Roaring-Mouse.com, a business which does website design, construction and hosting, electronic construction, video, print and Internet publishing, and lifestyle consulting and counselling. I am a keyboard musician.
